Troop campsite

Located within minutes of the hustle and bustle of downtown Pine Hills, Troop 227 meets at the First United Methodist Church of Pine Hills every Tuesday. This location is about halfway between Robinswood Middle School and Pine Hills Elementary School in west Orange County Florida.

Our esteemed cheerleader, ambassador, diplomat, B.M.O.C., biggest bestest brother, water carrier and (slightly) bewildered leader is Scoutmaster Richard Newsome. We are most fortunate to have him leading the Troop, and indeed the entire Leadership Staff and Committee Members. It is only because of their tireless efforts and manic dedication that we accomplish as much as we do for the Scouts of Troop 227. I delay in posting recognition for each of these fine people until I can do so properly the first time.

Scouting is an elite group, but never a clique, and neither is our troop. We welcome any boy or young man who meets the requirements for Scout, whether he may be a transfer due to relocation or someone who is is new and unfamiliar to Scouting. It is our belief that everyone can learn something from each and every one of our Scouts to make each of us a better person.

If you are interested in joining our troop, we ask that you (and a parent or legal guardian) visit one of our Troop Meetings. Meet our Scouts and their leaders; see if Scouting is right for you. We will be happy to answer your questions. Our goal is to help a Scout grow emotionally and spiritually while having fun in the process.

Oh well, here we go again
